BBGFC Club Notes – May 27th 2019

In this week’s Ballyboughal GFC News;
  • Our Ladies team play Kilmacud Crokes at Home at 7.30pm this Wednesday (May 29th) in the Championship. All Support Welcome. The girls had another great win in the Championhsip over Na Fianna last week to keep their Championship Hopes well and truly alive!
  • Our Men’s 2nd Team lost out to O’Tooles and Na Fianna last week but great to see new faces down every week. Reg Callanan has promised another Open Bar if the lads can sceure the Win next time out.
  • Our Men’s 1st Team lost out narrowly to a Strong Naomh Olaf’s team in a cracking match last Wednesday. They then turned it around on Sunday morning by beating St Marys, Saggart, 3.10 to 1.12 in the League. I’d like to take this moment to thank St Marys fort the Minutes Silence for Joe Rodgers before the game in which John Boy Rodgers played a stormer in his grandad’s memory!
  • Congratulations to all of our younger players who made their Communion last week.
  • We would also like to wish all of our Junior & Leaving Certificate Students the best of luck in the final weeks of studying before the exams start on June 6th. If anyone would like to talk or feels they need help with anything please feel free to contact one of our Committee Members at any time, we’re happy to help any time.
  • Kellogg’s Cul Camp 2019 will take place at Ballyboughal Club Mon 15th July to Fri 19th (inc) from 10am-2.30pm each day. Attendance is open to primary school children aged 6 years (BORN 2013) to 13 years.
  • Well done to the u.14 St Peters Girls who drew with St Jude’s over the weekend – League play off final scheduled for Friday night (May 31st) in Ballyboughal – time TBC.
  • Our G4M&O continue to train on Monday evenings from 8pm. New members always welcome.
  • As part of Mental Health Awareness month, 24 girls from Ballyboughal and Clann Mhuire GFC took part in a Positive Mental Health workshop hosted by Jigsaw. Many thanks to Sinead Kennedy for organising the event with Jigsaw. The girls really enjoyed this very engaging workshop and we’re hoping to hold a similar event for the juvenile boys and mentors shortly.
